Malden Golf Club

Traditions

While Malden Golf Club maintains the traditions of great hospitality and good food in a relaxing atmosphere, it is the constant challenge of playing the golf course that draws members and visitors to the Club.

It is one of the traditions of the Club that members do not need to book a tee time in advance. Whenever you choose to play golf, there is always the opportunity to turn up, meet other members and fix up to play. And if you are new to the Club, or like to play at a regular time during the week, there are a number of organised ‘roll-ups’ and ‘draw for partners’ where members are actively encouraged to meet and play with other members of the Club.

As well as social golf at the Club, there are also monthly weekend and mid-week medals, club matches, annual one day competitions and knock-out trophies. All the major men’s and ladies’ competitions culminate in a presentation on the day. These are usually sponsored by a past Captain in memory of some of the club's founders and most distinguished members, and provide all competitors with the opportunity to celebrate the occasion with the winners and runners-up.
