| The course was laid out in 1926 with the help of Alex Herd, one of the leading professionals at that time. The course measures 6295 yards, par 71, SSS 70. The yardage is made all the more difficult by the natural brooks which meander through the course and dictate how certain holes are played. There are two distinct nines. The first half is played on the "low" part of the course where the brooks either cross or border seven of the nine holes. Strategy is the key off the tee, especially on holes 3,5,7 and 8. Nevertheless, good long second shots are necessary to score par. The "top" nine includes three par 5's and encourages the player to enjoy the driver, but trouble looms if too wayward. You do well to get through holes 13 & 14 in par. This beautiful parkland course has matured into a real gem. Fairway watering ensures lush playing areas and the use of the natural water hazards makes for an ever increasing challenge to the golfer. CLICK HERE TO SEE OUR HOLES |
