Ben Tebbs
|
From an early age, Ben Tebbs showed a natural talent for sport, excelling in cross country, tennis (undefeated No.1 seed at school level), and football (captain of school and club sides). However, it was golf where he truly found his calling. Starting at 13, Ben quickly progressed to a 12 handicap in his first year, won his first scratch junior open at 15, and reached the finals of the prestigious Daily Mail Junior Golf Championship.
After school, Ben pursued a diploma in sports management while dedicating himself to golf. When the PGA qualification evolved into a degree in golf, he earned one of only three nationwide scholarships, enabling him to train as a professional capable of running all aspects of a golf club—from teaching and playing to club operations and finance. At Malden Golf Club, Ben honed his skills under the guidance of PGA luminaries, achieving multiple top finishes and a Pro-Am win. His keen eye for swing faults earned him the nickname “the golf whisperer” among fellow professionals. Now a fully qualified PGA professional for over 20 years, Ben has combined playing, teaching, and operational expertise throughout his career. He ran a major Powakaddy franchise in the South East, and now serves as Golf Operations Manager at Malden, ensuring the department runs as smoothly and efficiently as he plays. A lifelong learner, Ben regularly attends swing seminars and is a qualified PGA rules and tournaments official. Friendly, approachable, and experienced playing across Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean, Ben is ready to assist with all your golfing needs. |
